Overview

Hukam AI Upscaler Pro was built to give artists, photographers, and video creators access to top-tier neural super-resolution without the friction of commercial SaaS paywalls or complex developer environments. It wraps the battle-tested Real-ESRGAN Vulkan NCNN inference engine inside a single portable 55MB Windows binary.

The Bottleneck

Standard open-source super-resolution repositories require 4GB+ of PyTorch wheels, specific CUDA driver toolkits, and manual model weight downloads. Non-NVIDIA users (AMD Radeon, Intel Arc) are frequently locked out due to proprietary CUDA bindings.

The Architecture

By leveraging the universal Vulkan graphics API and NCNN runtime, Hukam Upscaler executes directly across NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel GPUs. All three core model weights are embedded into the single binary, and a resume log prevents lost progress.

Specialized for digital illustrations, vector rasterizations, anime, and line art. Eliminates compression ringing and reconstructs razor-sharp line weights.

realesr-animevideov3 (Video Super-Resolution)

Lightweight multi-scale (2x / 3x / 4x) model tuned for smooth temporal coherence across video frames, eliminating frame-to-frame flicker.

Engineering Highlights

  • Crash-Resilient Resume Log: Records completed items to upscaler_resume_log.json. If a long batch of 500 images is paused or interrupted, relaunching picks up right where it left off.
  • Low-VRAM Tile Splitting: Automatically splits ultra-high-resolution images into smaller overlapping tiles (100–200px) during GPU pass, preventing Out-Of-Memory (OOM) crashes on integrated graphics or laptop GPUs.
  • Zero Network Dependency: Runs completely offline. Sensitive creative assets, private client files, and confidential imagery never touch an external server.
